From a vineyard established in 2005 on the Shandong peninsula by Chris Ruffle comes this Syrah based red. The predominantly aromatic Syrah is supported by Merlot softness and Petit Verdot colour. Gently aged in french oak barrels this is a lovely clean red from one of the world's new emerging vineyard areas.
The philosopher in question is the 13thC Taoist Qiu Chuji whose temple lies in the vineyard.
