Brunelli, Campo del Maestro, Appassimento 2022, Italy

This Cuvee is dedicated the vineyard Master who dared to suggest an Amarone could be improved by a non-local variety. So 8 grapes became 9 grapes and the wine was declassified. I can't believe it's not Amarone! It taste's of red and wild berries, nutmeg and spices, as well as a delicate hint of vanilla from the oak.

An intense ruby red colour and, on the nose, red and wild berries, nutmeg and spices, as well as a delicate hint of vanilla from the oak. On the palate, it displays a great and seducing mellowness, a good acidity and velvety tannins that give gratifying balance. This is an elegant wine, with great structure.

Since the 18th century, the Brunelli Name has always been closely connected to San Pietro in Cariano, the main village of the Valpolicella area. Nestled between Verona and Lake Garda, Valpolicella represents the perfect synthesis of so many different elements. A mineral soil and rich in limestone, a wonderful mosaic of indigenous grapes, the Mediterranean climate an ideal South-Southwest exposure. A long-time family of winemakers, their mission is to be a refine and faithfully interpret the wine of the region.

It is ideal with grilled meats, roasts, game or medium-aged cheeses. Serve at 18°C (64°F), opening the bottle two hours beforehand.
