Laurent Miquel "Cote 136 Pech Cezarine" St Chinian 2018, France

A word from the producer; “Certain plots have certain areas that happen to produce certain grapes. These grapes we have found over the years lead to the most delicious wines. We mark these areas and give them a name. In this case 136 is the average altitude of the particular plot this wine comes from.
The grapes for this cuvée are harvested at dawn, then we use short vinification at a moderate temperature, along with soft extractions. A small amount is aged in new French barrels utilising the wood and all it can add. In the glass it reveals the whole story and it’s a story worth telling.”
Laurent Miquel is an eight generation family winemakers, their impressive history, informs their impressive wines. Their ethos is to draw on the past without becoming dependent on it. Laurent Miquel is always looking for better, more natural, and sustainable ways to make the world’s most elegant French wines.
